Each time I paint my walls, I wish I had a ladder. I never get to buy it, though. I use the kitchen table, which I drag around to do the ceiling and the upper part of the walls. It’s usually fine, but moving from one room to the other is a bit of a hassle, because the door openings are quite narrow.
This time I want a ladder. I’m doing research to see what to buy. I like the Werner MT-22 300-Pound Duty Rating Telescoping Multi-Ladder.
Why I like The Werner MT-22 300-Pound Duty Rating Telescoping Multi-Ladder
- It’s a telescopic ladder. Telescopic ladders can be easily stored and transported. I have limited storage space. I also want the ladder to fit inside my car, because I need to use it at my parents’ house as well. When folded, the Werner MT-22 ladder has the following dimensions: 69 inches height x 20 inches width x 8 inches length.
- This ladder is lightweight, compared to other brands. It is made from aluminum and it weighs 47 pounds. It’s light for this type of ladder. I’m not such a strong person, so I’ll probably need somebody else to help me handle it. However, I read some reviews on Amazon from guys who said they had no problem in handling the ladder by themselves.
- Werner MT-22 is versatile and easy to adjust. The height adjustments are done with spring-loaded J-locks. The one-foot length increments are small enough to allow finding the perfect length each time.
- All ladders in the Werner MT series are “multi-ladders”. This means they have multiple working positions: stepladder, twin stepladder, stairway stepladder and extension ladder. Additionally, if you get a plank, these ladders can be used as scaffold bases. That’s a great feature in case you have a lot of work to do (such as painting a large wall) and you don’t want to get down and move the ladder every ten minutes or so.
I also like the safety features packed with these ladders. The extra wide flared bottom seems very stable and the non-marring feet provide slip resistance. This is great, because I have no desire to break a leg or two by falling off the ladder. The smooth curved rails make climbing comfortable. If you ever climbed one of those old wooden ladders, then you know what I mean and how important this feature is to your hands.
The double-riveted steps are more durable than welded ones. I had some bad experience with welded joints that broke under pressure, so I would avoid this constructive solution when it comes to objects that are supposed to support my precious person.
Werner MT-22 telescopic ladder, as well as all other ladders in the MT Series, has the durability of a heavy duty type A1. It supports up to 300 pounds on each side. That’s great, because if you’re not heavily overweight, you can fit in some materials such as a paint bucket or some tools.
Werner is one of the most trusted ladder manufacturers. They are known for their excellent quality and professional standards. This is important for me. I’m never comfortable when I need to use ladders, so I want to get the best.
